Project Overview

Flood modelling was undertaken to assess development opportunities within the proposed Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct near Townsville, informing the proposed footprint of the solar facility and Hydrogen Hub while establishing flood immunity requirements for future development.

Flood modelling works were developed to determine proposed footprint of solar facility and flood immunity requirements for the proposed Hydrogen Hub development area.

Stormwater management plans, erosion and sediment control plans and site layout plans were also developed.

Challenges

    Two Mile Creek traversed through the upper northern corner of the 70 Ha site resulting in difficulty for access and solar array locations as frequency of inundation impacted development feasibility
  • $
    Downstream boundary State road and rail corridors approvals requirements were onerous related to controlling impacts to hydrologic/ hydraulic characteristics

    Preparation of flood mapping for a range of storm events from frequent to rare and advice on development footprints for the project
