Assessment and detailed design for the repair of approximately 100 km of unsealed access roads within the Townsville Field Training Area, supporting safe and reliable access across one of Australia's largest Defence training facilities.

Project Overview

Civil IQ undertook site investigations and engineering assessment of approximately 100 km of deteriorated unsealed access roads throughout the Townsville Field Training Area. The project involved identifying and prioritising pavement failures, erosion damage and waterway crossings, before preparing practical repair solutions suited to Defence operational requirements and contractor delivery.

Working within tight project timeframes, Civil IQ developed targeted repair drawings covering light, medium and heavy pavement rehabilitation, stormwater improvements and localised erosion control measures. The resulting documentation enabled efficient construction set-out and delivery across a large, geographically dispersed road network.
